Job Description: 

Purpose of Job

The Accounts Team Lead is responsible for overseeing daily AP/AR operations, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, receipt, vendor and customer account management. This role supervises AP team members, resolves escalations, and supports process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with company policies.

Skill Required

Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare AP/AR aging reports, accruals, and month-end closing activities.
  • Analyze AP/AR metrics and trends; recommend process improvements.
  • Collaborate with Procurement, Finance, and other departments to enhance workflow efficiency.

Roles and Responsibilites

1. Accounts Payable/Receivable Operations

  • Oversee end-to-end AP/AR processes including invoice processing, approvals, and payment runs.
  • Ensure accurate and timely posting of all vendor/customer invoices and credit/debit memos.
  • Manage weekly payment cycles.
  • Reconcile vendor/customer statements and resolve outstanding balances.
  • Maintain strong internal controls to reduce risks of duplicate payments or fraud.
  • Support internal and external audits through documentation and reports.
  • Support shared service team based on UK whenever required.

2. Team Leadership & Supervision

  • Lead, mentor, and train AP/AR associates; conduct regular performance reviews.
  • Allocate workload and monitor daily productivity to meet deadlines.

Provide guidance for resolving invoice discrepancies and vendor/customer issues

Qualification Required

  • Master's degree in Accounting (M.com) or Inter CA

Relevant skills / Industry experience

  • 5+ years of experience in Accounts Payable, including at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
  • Experience with SAP system.
  • Strong understanding of invoice processing, PO matching and payment methods.
  • Strong leadership and team-management skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
