Job Description: 

Purpose of Job

The role involves overseeing and guiding downstream processing activities in the Cell and Gene Therapy DSP laboratory. This includes hands-on execution, method development, equipment handling, and mentoring of junior team members. The position plays a key role in optimizing processes and supporting development goals aligned with CGT strategies.

Skill Required

  • In-depth knowledge of downstream processing techniques and equipment used in biotherapeutic or gene therapy manufacturing

  • Proven expertise in chromatography, TFF, and related purification processes

  • Strong documentation and compliance orientation, especially in GLP/GDP environments

  • Ability to analyze data, troubleshoot process issues, and lead continuous improvement

  • Team leadership experience with effective communication and mentoring skills

  • Exposure to Cell and Gene Therapy concepts is a strong advantage

Roles and Responsibilites

  • Supervise and guide downstream process development for gene therapy products, including buffer prep, cell lysis, clarification, centrifugation, and chromatography techniques.

  • Apply scientific knowledge to develop and optimize DSP processes based on principles and methodologies relevant to CGT.

  • Operate and troubleshoot DSP equipment such as preparative chromatography systems, TFF units, pH/conductivity meters, centrifuges, and spectrophotometers.

  • Ensure proper data generation, compilation, and review for experiments performed; ensure traceability and integrity in scientific documentation.

  • Support technology transfer, scale-up, and process improvement initiatives across CGT projects.

  • Provide training and mentorship to junior staff; ensure consistent skill development within the DSP function.

  • Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and ensure scientific presentations and reports meet project standards.
