Job Description: 

Downstream processing

To support and contribute to the development, optimization, and scale-up of downstream processes for biologics. The role focuses on handling chromatographic systems, tangential flow filtration (TFF) systems, and buffer preparation, while using analytical skills to interpret data and contribute to scientific discussions.

Skill Required

  • Downstream Process Design Understanding: Knowledge of designing and optimizing downstream processes in biopharmaceutical development.

  • Chromatographic and TFF Systems: Proficiency in handling chromatographic systems (e.g., HPLC, SEC) and TFF systems for biomolecule purification.

  • Buffer Preparation: Strong hands-on experience with preparing and standardizing buffers and solutions used in bioprocessing.

  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze experimental data, draw conclusions, and troubleshoot problems effectively.

  • Communication & Presentation Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills for discussing technical findings with internal teams and during scientific meetings.

Roles and Responsibilites

  • Downstream Process Design & Optimization:

    • Assist in the design and optimization of downstream processes for biologics, focusing on purification, chromatography, and filtration systems.

  • Chromatography & TFF Handling:

    • Operate and troubleshoot chromatographic systems (e.g., HPLC, SEC) and TFF systems for the purification of biomolecules.

  • Buffer Preparation:

    • Prepare buffers and solutions required for downstream processes, ensuring proper pH, concentration, and stability for process applications.

  • Data Analysis & Interpretation:

    • Analyze and interpret process data to identify trends, optimize protocols, and make recommendations for improvements.

  • Scientific Presentations & Communication:

    • Prepare and deliver presentations on process development, providing data-driven insights to both internal teams and external stakeholders during scientific discussions.

  • Collaborative Work:

    • Work closely with cross-functional teams in R&D, Quality, and Manufacturing to ensure seamless transitions from lab-scale to pilot and commercial-scale processes.

Qualification Required

  • M.Tech in Biotechnology or Bioprocess Technology

  • M.Sc. in Biotechnology or related fields (with relevant lab or process development experience).
