Senior Packaging Technologist

Role: Full-time, permanent

Location: Fawdon, Newcastle

Salary: Competitive + bonus + benefits

The Role

 

Support the development of the Fawdon facility by managing projects and leading cross functional teams for the introduction of new products, materials, processes and technologies, ensuring compliance, business and stakeholder requirements are understood and met.

  • Work collaboratively with project teams to ensure packaging requirements are understood and accounted for in scopes for R&D and Transfer projects.
  • Develop and implement appropriate solutions to enable processing of new and existing products at the Fawdon facility; both high volume and high margin products
  • Perform root cause analysis for compliance failures and performance issues, supporting the packing engineering and operational teams to reach acceptable outcomes
  • Participate in early phase design of products and projects, providing input for business cases and feasibility assessments across the business.
  • Technical creation and approval of new artwork/ design
  • Undertake departmental risk assessments
  • Maintain and review department SOP’s and Work instructions
  • Maintain database and analyse production data covering a full product range as well as assisting the creation of tooling data sheets to assist operators to understand tooling requirements

The Person

 

  • Demonstrable experience in a GMP and/ or FMCG environment
  • Educated to GCSE level including English and Maths
  • Cross functional team worker, builder and leader
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written English)
  • Technical protocol and report writing experience
  • Strong skills in MS office suite
  • Experience with Pharmaceutical material suppliers preferred
  • Project management experience
  • Experience in handling new packaging introduction activities
  • Experience of change control systems
