Role Details

QA Officer

Role: Full-time, permanent

Location: Fawdon, Newcastle upon Tyne

Salary: Competitive plus bonus plus benefits

The Role

Due to continued company growth, we’re seeking a meticulous and pragmatic Quality Assurance Officer to support our QA Manager in the development of our quality systems, putting clear processes and reporting measures in place and helping to get operations up and running across our solid oral dose, effervescent and Injectable work-streams. Working with stakeholders across the business, you’ll instil a strong QA culture from the start, providing guidance and training to drive standards and supporting multi-disciplinary Continuous Improvement initiatives. Your key focus will be ensuring GMP compliance and maintaining Quality metrics; on a day-to-day basis, you’ll review change controls, CAPAs and deviations. With good GMP knowledge, you’ll conduct impromptu spot checks out on the factory floor and undertake regular internal and supplier audits to monitor company compliance, along with representing the business during customer, regulatory and corporate audits. To support the smooth running of the department, you’ll complete, submit and retain any required documentation, within deadline, to maintain our PQS systems, review and update SOPs as the site develops and compile PQR and OPV data, as required. So, as you can see, you’ll have the opportunity to make a real impact right from the start and continue to grow with the business.

The Person

  • Experience in a similar Quality Assurance role within the pharmaceutical sector, with broad generalist experience and a good understanding of relevant UK / EU regulations
  • Experience of preparing and reviewing quality metrics and trends
  • Keen eye for detail, with a methodical and analytical approach to work
  • Experience in risk management and mitigation
  • Strong communication skills – happy relating to people of all levels
  • Experience of preparing and reviewing APQRs and fronting and managing audits, with experience in handling RA submission documents and reviewing analytical data preferred
  • Experience of supporting cross-functional projects and continuous improvement initiatives, able to manage your own workload – even in a fast-paced and changeable environment
  • Strong written, numerical and IT abilities
  • A relevant life science or engineering qualification would be advantageous (e.g. HNC or degree-level)

The Rewards

In return, we offer a competitive salary and rewards package (including holiday, bonus and pension scheme). Not to mention the opportunity to genuinely make a difference in a new and dynamic role within a progressive and expanding business, at an exciting time of growing international reach.
