Project Manager – Operations / Pharmaceuticals

Role: Full-time, permanent

Location: Barnstaple, Devon

Salary: £35k – £45k + bonus + benefits

The Role

We’re seeking a driven and meticulous Project Manager to lead cross-functional teams and support technical, product related project management activities across our Barnstaple site. In this varied and fast-paced role, you’ll work closely with internal teams (Commercial, Supply Chain, Quality, Regulatory and Operations) to oversee assigned projects and take responsibility for the planning and execution of Technical Transfer and Product Development opportunities. Following our established procedures, you’ll drive forwards your assigned projects across the full project lifecycle: scoping the project, identifying deliverables and milestones, developing project plans, managing risks, driving deadlines and overseeing relevant budgets. Liaising with contacts across the business, you’ll keep key stakeholders updated with relevant information and present business cases and feasibility studies to gain approval for new projects. In addition, you’ll plan and manage the closeout of projects, establishing effective handovers and using evaluation metrics to help continuously improve our project management procedures and framework. Using your excellent organisation and communication skills your projects may include:

  • Product extensions and reformulations
  • Transfer of product manufacture and/or packaging
  • R&D opportunities

The Person

  • Previous experience in a Project Management role (or a role with Project Management responsibilities), ideally within a regulated industry – familiar with different project management methodologies and working with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication skills – confident liaising with and presenting to all levels of authority, able to navigate cultural differences and translate complex information to different audiences.
  • Excellent organisation skills, able to manage multiple workstreams to deadline and maintain a good eye for detail, even in a fast-paced and changeable work environment.
  • Flexible approach to problem solving with a naturally inquisitive and analytical mind
  • Familiar with GxP guidelines.
  • Good IT skills (including Microsoft Office) with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Experience with R&D activities, ERP systems and familiarity with different pharmaceutical dosage formats would be an advantage.
