Production Operator- Materials Handler
Role: Full-time, permanent
Location: Fawdon, Newcastle
Shift: 6am -2.15pm, 2pm-10.15pm on weekly rotation
Salary: Competitive plus shift allowance plus bonus plus benefits
The Role
Day to day reporting to the Technical Operator / Team Leader, producing and packing to world class pharmaceutical standards. As part of the production team the role will be responsible for:
- To be part of the production team which produces a range of pharmaceutical products to a defined specification in accordance with legal, GMP and site safety practices.
- To meet personal and line standards with regard to behaviours, performance and productivity in accordance with site and corporate safety/GMP standards.
- To ensure the appropriate quality and documentation controls are completed in line with Company standards.
- Inspect clearance and cleaning is carried out to the required standard.
- To provide a proactive approach to maintenance engineering and scheduling structure.
- Promote and take ownership of relevant CI activity in designated area of control.
- Ensure compliance to all site and operational safety policies in order to maintain safe working practices and has up to date knowledge of regulatory, legal and HSE requirements relevant to their function and ensuring that H&S is followed at all times.
•Operate manufacturing and packing lines/processes. Prepare area with effective use of time and resources to maximise production efficiency in line with cGMP compliance.
•To be responsible for the taking and sign off of BMR and BPR requirements for files samples.
•To be responsible for the execution and checking of BMR and BPR ensuring cGMP standards are met.
•To be responsible for the line handovers and sign off ensuring cGMP standards are adhered to.
•To be aware and perform any adjustments that may be required during the production run to ensure OEE and productivity targets are met. Understand and comply with escalation procedures.
•To be responsible for line clearance checks and completion of line log books.
•To understand and report KPI indicators for the relevant area.
•To participate in all training activity as required including cross-training of colleagues.
•Has detailed knowledge of own functional area.
•Has a basic technical expertise and specialist skills, provides advice and support to others in own area.
•Troubleshoots basic problems and liaises within own and other departments to resolve issues successfully.
•Supports continuous improvement process and ensures successful implementation of agreed changes.
•Supports in Company and external audits, conducts risk assessments and works to ensure compliance across the site.
•Has up to date knowledge of regulatory, legal and HSE requirements relevant to the function.
•Promotes teamwork, motivates, coaches and supports others.
•Ensures H&S is followed at all times.
•Will assigned to tasks requiring a reasonable level of competence and skill where appropriate completion will result in effective and safe operations on site.

- Works within established processes and procedures with the freedom to use reasonable initiative within these.
- Excellent communication skills
- Demonstrate a good understanding of their area and how it interacts successfully with other functions.
- Communicates issues to other departments, and line manager as appropriate.
- Develop skill base across a number of areas and specialist expertise relevant to functions.
- Experience of working within a busy time sensitive environment, working under pressure whilst effectively prioritizing workloads.
- Ability to challenge existing processes.
- Able to effectively and compliantly review, amend and draft SOP’s/RA’s/etc.
- Good PC skills.
- Good team player with open communication style.
- Ability to train colleagues.
- Familiarity with PC based systems.
