Role Details

Operational Excellence Improvement Facilitator

Role: Full Time, Permanent

Location: Fawdon, Newcastle upon Tyne

Salary: Competitive + bonus + benefits

The Role

The Operational Excellence Improvement Facilitator will support the Fawdon team in its approach to continuous improvement. They will be a key change agent in supporting the organisation to continually, learn improve and develop. You will:

•Support the organisation to improve all aspects of Fawdon’s site operational performance including (SQDCP) EHS, Quality and Regulatory Compliance, Customer Service, cost efficiency, labour utilisation and equipment effectiveness.

•Facilitate improvement projects and interventions which support improvement to all aspects of business performance (SQDCP).

•Provide support to the Operational Excellence Academy activities by being a point of contact between third party providers, learners, and the wider business. 

•Through continuous improvement methodologies, deliver ongoing improvements to operational standards and practices and overall operational performance (Safety Quality Cost Delivery and People). Key focus areas will be Safety, Quality and regulatory compliance, Operational efficiency, people utilisation and cost efficiencies.

•Support the Operations team (and wider site) to implement and embed the methodologies, processes, systems and procedures which are the building blocks to a learning and continuous improvement culture.

•Support (and lead) operational projects including the introduction of new equipment, processes, systems and procedures.

The Person

In-depth knowledge and experience of GMP guidelines and pharmaceutical processes and skilled in continuous improvements / lean manufacturing techniques

Proven track record of introducing new equipment, processes, or procedures within cGMP environment.

Excellent problem solving, organisational, planning and people management skills.

Ability to work under pressure but maintaining attention to detail, schedule resources, and support teams

Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills

High level of numeracy skills and competent in basic computer software packages

Ability to work autonomously and organise own workload efficiently with a practical hands-on approach and a ‘can do’ attitude

Excellent team player

Logical and analytical mind-set with a drive to make things better.

A desire to enhance individual capability through continual personal development.

Encourages a culture of openness, honesty, and integrity.

Understanding of Health and Safety requirements related to manufacturing environments

Experience of Lean / Continuous Improvement methodologies

Degree level (or higher) in relevant subject, ideally science or engineering.

Or HNC Qualified in relevant subject with extensive pharmaceutical know how
