Medical Director Cluster (France, Belgium & The Netherlands)
Role: Full-time, permanent
Location: Lille (50%), France and field (50%)
The Role
We’re seeking an experienced and strategic Cluster Medical Director to take responsibility for the Regional Medical Affairs Implementation Plan for selected products for the Cluster France, Belgium & The Netherlands. You’ll will line manage the Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs) team in France and will also support the MSLs in Belgium and the Netherlands. The Cluster Medical Director is predominantly an externally focused role building strong relationships with the key opinion leaders and ensures a high level of scientific excellence across the Cluster.
Your activities will include:
KOL Engagement and Medical Leadership
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with leading experts, currently focused on Urology and Oncology.
- Develop and execute a proactive insight and/or engagement plan (e.g. advisory boards, symposia, scientific collaborations, studies, publications, etc.).
- Co-ordinate internal review, escalation and (where relevant) support for investigator-initiated trial proposals
- Provide support at all stages to any local sites participating in sponsored studies
- Represent the company at national and international congresses.
Medical Plan Implementation (France, Belgium and The Netherlands)
- Define and implement the cluster medical strategy in alignment with global objectives.
- Ensure scientific consistency and compliance of all medical activities.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of scientific, clinical, and regulatory developments in oncology.
MSL Team Leadership and Coordination
- Directly manage the French MSL team.
- Help coordinate MSL activities in Belgium and the Netherlands, in collaboration with local Country Heads.
- Set objectives, monitor performance, and support the recruitment, professional development and strategic alignment of the cluster field medical team.
Cross-Functional and Scientific Support
- Collaborate closely with Market Access, Regulatory, Marketing, and regional Medical Affairs teams.
- Provide scientific support throughout the product lifecycle, including during pre- and post-launch activities.
- Review and approve medical and promotional materials in compliance with local regulations (e.g., French promotional compliance standards).
- Provide scientific input for priority patient access initiatives including support for national HTA processes, early access schemes etc
The Person
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Pharmacist. Strong expertise in oncology is highly desirable.
- Considerable amount of experience in medical affairs, including team management. Previous experience in multi-country roles (France and/or Benelux) is highly desirable.
- Languages: Fluent in French and English; Dutch is a plus
