The Role

 We’re looking for a Manufacturing Technologist to join our Barnstaple production site and play a key role in delivering our wide range of high-quality oral solid dose (OSD) products.

This is a hands-on, high-impact role with real visibility and opportunity to influence manufacturing performance. You will combine technical expertise, problem-solving, and data analysis to drive process improvements and support product lifecycle activities. Working as part of a collaborative and experienced Manufacturing Technology team producing products that make a difference to people’s lives.

What you’ll be doing

• Provide technical expertise to support the daily manufacturing operations.

• Lead and support process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and quality
• Perform laboratory-scale manufacturing and support scale-up activities
• Support formulation optimisation and site transfer projects
• Investigate and resolve manufacturing issues using structured problem-solving approaches

• Analyse process data, trends, and quality metrics to enhance performance
• Author GMP-compliant protocols, reports, and technical documentation
• Work within the Pharmaceutical Quality System (ICH Q10), including management of:
• Change control
• Deviations
• CAPA

The Person

Essential

• Manufacturing and/or testing experience within pharmaceutical, healthcare, fine chemical, or food industries.
• Understanding of oral solid dose manufacturing principles and testing.
• Experience authoring GMP compliant technical documents.
• Demonstrated problem solving capability.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Desirable

• Practical knowledge of oral solid dose formulation
• Experience working with a Pharmaceutical Quality System.
• Hands on experience with tablet or capsule manufacturing and testing.
• Knowledge of EU GMP (Eudralex Volume 4).
• Experience supporting or managing projects.
