Key Account Manager (Animal Health)

Role: Full-time, permanent

Location: Stockley Park, West London

The Role

Accord Animal Health (Accord) is at the beginning of an exciting and challenging journey, to become firmly established as a viable and sustainable veterinary products manufacturer and distributor across EMENA. UK is part of a first wave of geographies where Accord intends to launch its portfolio of products within a heavily “corporatised” veterinary market. This role will be paramount in gaining entry to those markets and in effectively representing the Accord brand in front of its customers.

Primary goal will be to achieve sales revenue targets for Accord by servicing key accounts across the region. This is a true key account management role where you will be responsible for a growing portfolio of products and for the local launch of a new animal health company to a broad range of primary customers. You will be required to identify key customers and decision-makers across your region and build appropriate business relationships with all stakeholders including corporate senior management, veterinary professionals, clinical directors, purchasing, finance and appropriate industry networks across the region, thereby delivering positive commercial results.

 

You’ll gain a comprehensive understanding of Accord’s veterinary licensed products and nutraceuticals and will be required to develop robust key account plans to ensure achievement of sales targets and key performance objectives for the animal health portfolio. You’ll maintain detailed action plans and meeting reports; participate in customer segmentation and targeting exercises and implement all marketing initiatives and activities. The flexibility to engage with customers remotely as well as the need for regular travel across the territory is essential for this role.

 

Development of Key Account Action Plans

  • Develop and execute effective business plans for maximising territory sales and in building brand loyalty.
  • Build on an existing knowledge of each account stakeholders’ priorities, processes, business needs, drivers, and barriers for product uptake.

 

Business Relationship Management of Key Accounts

  • Establish effective relationships with veterinary customers and stakeholders, including but not limited to; Vets, Clinical directors, Vet nurses, Practice managers and Procurement and ensure customers are supported, opportunities are identified, and solutions implemented.

 

Effective Internal Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain effective business relationships across a wide range of Accord functions including sales, marketing, supply chain, finance, HR and senior management ensuring appropriate internal resource is in place to provide Accord’s customers with expert support as needed.

 

The Person

Essential:

  • Degree level education ideally life science and/or business.
  • Previous experience working in veterinary or clinical environment.
  • NOAH Certificate of Animal Health.
  • Animal Health Key Account experience 
  • Broad experience in the UK Animal Health sector – Ideally within the companion animal product market.
  • Understanding of Key Account Management methodologies.
  • Ability to detail products, treatment options and clinical data.
