Role: Full-time, permanent

Location: Barnstaple, North Devon

The Role

 

To lead the Hub or Site based People Team that supports all colleagues based in the Hub or Site.

 

The Hub or Site HR Director is a key member of the Hub or site leadership team, responsible for shaping and executing the Hub or site people strategy in alignment with the EMENA people strategy and the Intas &Accord Global People Strategy. This role provides strategic and hands-on HR leadership across all aspects of talent, culture, capability, and workforce planning to support GMP manufacturing, quality, engineering, supply chain, and technical functions in our sites as well as Commercial ambition, excellence and compliance in our Hubs.

 

The HR Director ensures alignment with global HR standards and the highest level of compliance with local labour legislation, while addressing hub and site-specific needs related to the delivery of the EMENA growth strategy.

The Person

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Organizational Psychology, or related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including leadership roles within commercial or manufacturing.
  • Deep knowledge of HR practices with strong experience in regulated environments—pharmaceuticals, biotech, or medical device preferred
  • Track record of transformation and change delivery in commercial or site environment
  • Proven experience supporting GMP operations and multi-shift/hourly manufacturing workforces for our site based roles, demonstrable experience of having delivered positive change
  • Strong capability in employee relations, coaching, organizational development, and change leadership.
  • Demonstrated experience influencing senior operational leaders
  • Experience in union/works council environments (if applicable).
  • Experience supporting regulatory inspections and audits.
  • Background in Lean, Six Sigma, or operational excellence.
  • Strategic and hands-on leadership
  • Business acumen in commercial/ country or manufacturing operations
  • Ability to influence at all levels, from KAMs to Executives, operators to site leadership
  • Strong coaching and communication skills
  • Data and insight-driven decision making
  • Resilience and calm under pressure.
  • Integrity, discretion.
