Finance Officer
Role: Permanent, Full-time
Location: Brussels, BELGIUM
The Role
Reporting to the Finance Director of Belgium, France & The Netherlands, the Finance officer is responsible for all accounting and controlling related activities for Belgium.
Responsibilities include:
- Ensuring accurate and timely booking of vendor invoices and act as point of contact for vendors
- Accurately maintaining and updating vendor and customer master data
- Processing of employee expense notes
- Preparing and process payments to vendors and ensure timely payments
- Daily processing of bank transactions and reporting of bank balances
- Ensuring accurate and timely booking and clearing of customer payments
- Ensure accurate and timely recording, posting, reconciliation and reporting of penalties
- Perform closing activities (incl. running depreciation and posting accruals)
- Responsible for sales reporting and analysis (weekly / monthly)
- Ensure accurate and timely calculation, posting and analysis of Discounts and rebates (GTN)
- Responsible for inventory reconciliation, analysis and reporting
- Accurate and timely calculation of inventory provision, out-of-stock analysis and support in liquidation plans in cooperation with supply and commercial teams
- Providing analysis and recommendations to Management, acting as business partner
- Provide standard and ad hoc analysis and reporting (incl. HC, OpEx and P&L) for management
- Responsible for planning- and control cycle (incl. budget and forecasts)
The Person
- Bachelor’s degree in finance
- At least 5 years of experience in finance, ideally in a multi-cultural environment
- Fully conversant with Microsoft Office - advanced Excel skills
- Understanding of accounting principles
- Experience and an affinity with ERP systems, SAP experience is a plus
- Understanding of BI tools (e.g., Power BI) and automation in finance.
- Experience in pharmaceutical company would be a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, Dutch and French
- Well organized and efficient, with the ability to plan and control workload
- Capable of working on his/her own initiative
- Team player demonstrating maximum flexibility as required to complete key tasks
