Engineering Planner
Role: Full-time, Permanent
Location: Fawdon, Newcastle upon Tyne

The Role
The post holder will be responsible for the scheduling and planning of the sites engineering maintenance activities, engineering work request system and coordinating external contractor and FM engineering resource as required, along with associated metric compilation and reporting.
•Planning and scheduling of routine preventative maintenance instructions for facilities and production engineering.
•Scoping, planning and scheduling of works orders for facilities and production engineering
•Ensure FM contract maintenance activities are effectively managed and controlled.
•Inclusion and analysis of unplanned maintenance instructions into pertinent asset history
•Responsible for up-keep and accuracy of equipment maintenance history and job records.
•Continually improve planning and job reporting systems to increase planning effectiveness and efficiency.
•Work with the Reliability Engineer identify and implement opportunities to improve equipment reliability, plant design and plant performance
•Work with project engineering for the inclusion of new plant and equipment into the sites preventative maintenance requirements.
•Review the operation of plant equipment and systems constantly, to minimise unplanned downtime, anticipate solve problems in a timely manner, and to identify opportunities for improvement.
•Compile KPI’s and metrics for the sites planned and unplanned maintenance activities and engineering work request system.
The Person
Background in Engineering preferred but suitable background and experience will be acceptable.
Experience of CMMS planning systems either as a planner or an engineer/technician preferred
Proven experience in planning, scheduling and auditing maintenance activities either as a hands on engineer or as a maintenance planner
Experience of working on high speed production machinery
Experience of working with external service providers and contractors.
Understanding of relevant Pharmaceutical cGMP and HSE and compliance legislation
Proficient with Microsoft Projects software.
Extensive knowledge of engineering principles and procedures.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
