Role: Full-time, 1 year contract with the prospect of a permanent position. 

Location: Utrecht (the Netherlands)

 

The Role

Reporting to the Country Manager, the Commercial Support / Assistant is responsible for supporting the commercial operations of the Hospital and Retail businesses, contributing to the achievement of market and performance objectives across both channels.

 

The role includes customer account management, back-office operations, and product-related activities to optimise commercial performance and support the execution of strategic goals in the Netherlands.

 

You will collaborate closely with both internal and external stakeholders, including hospital tender organisations, individual hospitals, and payors, to build effective partnerships and drive business performance. Through cross-functional collaboration, you will help ensure strong commercial execution while contributing to optimal patient access and business growth.

 

Responsibilities include:

 

  • Coordinate day-to-day commercial operations in the Hospital and Retail channels, in cooperation with multi with departments such as Supply Chain, Customer Service, QA and the commercial team.  
  • Supports in tendering and commercial propositions aligned with corporate strategy (
  • Lead the preparation, coordination, and follow-up of (hospitals, insurers, wholesalers and others), ensuring high-quality submissions aligned with commercial strategy
  • Manage commercial contracts end-to-end, including administration, compliance, and lifecycle tracking
  • Develop, maintain, and optimise pricing structures in line with market dynamics and tender requirements
  • Coordinate closely with Supply Chain to ensure alignment on demand planning, product availability, and tender commitments
  • Act as key contact for customers, handling daily operational questions and ensuring timely and professional follow-up
  • Oversee contract execution and ensure accurate implementation of agreed commercial terms
  • Validate and process commercial claims invoices, ensuring accuracy and adherence to contractual agreements
  • Contribute to ad-hoc commercial questions in the daily operation by cooperating with multiple departments (i.e supply chain, customer service, quality)

The Person

  • Master or bachelor degree, preferably in health sciences and/or business economics.
  • Experience in healthcare, with a focus on sales and marketing of generics medicines
  • Solid knowledge of the Dutch healthcare landscape; existing network is an advantage
  • Deep market knowledge and experience in building up a network of relationships in Netherlands
  • Proactive and hands-on mindset, with the ability to take initiative and contribute effectively in a cross-functional team environment
  • Strong analytical skills to understand market dynamics, optimize tender bid strategies, and identify commercial opportunities
  • Willingness to take initiative and become directly involved in planning, problem solving and execution of work in a team environment
  • Good understanding of the generic pharmaceuticals and biosimilars market, including pricing and tender dynamics
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret market data, support tender strategies, and identify commercial opportunities
  • Dutch speaker with excellent oral and written English skills
