Category Manager

Role: Full-time, 12 mth Fixed Term Contract

Location: Stockley Park, Uxbridge

The Role

We’re seeking a motivated and influential Category Manager to proactively & effectively manage procurement process for multiple Indirect related categories and projects in supporting our strategic plan across multiple European sites. You will deputise for the Procurement Managers when necessary and to support the Category Buyers & Buyers in their day-to-day roles. Category Management to include:

      Category Strategy and Planning -Lead with senior procurement management team the    

      development of end-to-end Category Management process including defining and

      implementing strategies, sourcing RFI/RFQ or benchmarking and contract negotiations

      to achieve business objectives.

 

      Cost Optimisation and Risk Management -Market analysis of categories and spend              

      profiles to assess risk and opportunities for the supply chains. Identify opportunities for

      innovation, process improvement and agility in providing added value services.

 

Stakeholder Engagement & Sourcing -Stakeholder management to ensure engagement of key people to develop requirements, objectives and sourcing strategies. Lead the creation and execution of sourcing strategy, define the idea supply set and build then implement to ensure we focus on best value, quality, delivery, efficiencies, cashflow and rationalization of supplier numbers.

 

Supplier Management -Lead Supplier Development Management including managing new suppliers, performance review meetings and contract management to ensure the best service, compliance and value for money.

Contract & Compliance Management -Review, execute, implement and manage contracts for the business to ensure the business is protected legally and all risks are minimized, working with Legal, Finance and other teams to ensure governance standards are met

Reporting and Functional /wider business support-Proactively deliver Procurement & personal performance metrics to enable inputs into the monthly and weekly reports and annual personal goals. Support the procurement support function across Accord EMENA site network.

The Person

 

  • Experience in the pharmaceutical / healthcare industry, food sector or other high compliance industry an advantage but not essential
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team across multiple operation sites
  • Contract negotiation skills
  • Key supplier relationship experience
  • Experience of managing multiple procurement projects / negotiations concurrently.
  • ERP or MRP experience
  • PC literate with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook & Powerpoint
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team across multiple operation sites
  • Educated to degree level in a commercial or business area
  • MCIPS an advantage
