The Role
The Associate Director of Business Development will play a pivotal role in shaping Accord Healthcare UK’s local portfolio strategy. This position is responsible for identifying, assessing, and securing new growth opportunities—primarily through local in‑licensing deals, distribution agreements, strategic partnerships, and collaboration with external development partners. Furthermore this role will manage the operational relationships with our local-CMO partners.
The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in the UK generic pharmaceutical market, strong B2B and CMO relationships, and a proven ability to negotiate and close complex agreements. Operating as a highly driven self‑starter, the Associate Director will work cross‑functionally with Commercial, Portfolio, Regulatory, Supply Chain, Medical, Finance, Legal and Global/Intas teams to ensure full alignment between local market requirements and global strategic objectives.

The Person
- Degree Level qualification, preferably in international trade, economics, pharmacy, biotechnology, biology, chemistry or similar.
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical regulations and required documentation for pharmaceutical products.
- Significant professional experience in a similar position or in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Substantial experience in the UK generic pharmaceutical industry.
- Proven track record of sourcing, assessing, negotiating, and closing business development deals in UK including volume/price negotiations.
- Deep understanding of the UK generics market structure, procurement environment, NHS dynamics, pricing & reimbursement and competitive landscape.
- Knowledge of generic product launch process, pricing and reimbursement.
- Strong knowledge of IQVIA, Open Prescribing and other available data sources
- Strong network across manufacturers, developers, CMOs, and B2B partners.
- Demonstrated ability to research, analyse, and identify portfolio gaps and emerging opportunities.
