Job Title: Associate Directo Portfolio & NPL South
Role Details
The Associate Director, Portfolio & NPL Head,South Europe Hub is responsible to deliver business growth through strategic and operational management of the entire Portfolio & New Product Launch (NPL) strategy and activities within the hub in close alignment with EMENA Portfolio Director and Countries. The scope of the role includes:
- Development and execution of hub portfolio and new launch strategy, initiatives and projects.
- Leading portfolio growth, optimisation and life cycle management initiatives supporting the growth of Accord across different businesses/verticals.
- Driving the new product launch team, cross functional workstreams (commercial, medical affairs, product development, regulatory affairs, R&D and marketing) and processes to successfully launch new generics and speciality brands in the region within timescales and right first time.
Portfolio:
- In close alignment with BD and NPL, evaluate new opportunities for addition into hub pipeline, track developments and propose/evaluate suitable opportunities for financial assessment via business cases (BC).
- Deliver BC financial assessments for new pipeline opportunities, providing quantitative and qualitative feedback plus market intelligence when necessary and within agreed timescales.
- Identify new business opportunities (with support from stakeholders) incorporating In-House, In-License, acquisition, distribution or local deals where relevant.
- Deliver business growth by providing recommendations for pipeline candidates and new business opportunities via the Make It Better process.
- Analyse portfolio by completing optimisation reviews, delivering clear recommendations and outcomes.
- Collaborate cross functionally (commercial, medical affairs, product development, regulatory affairs, R&D and marketing) ensuring alignment on portfolio growth, optimisation strategies and commercial opportunities.
New Product Launch:
- Lead development, maintenance and revision of launch excellence program ensuring launch success.
- Lead new product launch team and cross functional workstreams from opportunity assessment to execution of launch plans right first time.
- Understand market objectives of each launch, identifying risk and critical success factors, develop, align and execute launch and market access plans.
- Create launch plans employing detailed analysis of critical success factors, understanding market requirements, regulatory, quality, supply limitations and opportunities.
- Align launch plans with relevant stakeholders and update plans according to changes in market condition or product readiness ensuring execution according to plan.
- Ensure readiness in market for each product launch including system set up, local regulatory / pricing / quality activities.
- Responsible for successful development and execution of hub portfolio and new launch strategy, operations and initiatives.
- Lead, manage and develop direct reports to deliver on organisational targets.
- Represent Portfolio and NPL within the hub management team.
- Ensure systems are used, all trackers are updated correctly and all relevant processes are followed, suggesting opportunities for continuous process improvement.
- Deliver non-silo cross-functional working across multiple teams, assisting with ad-hoc requests and supporting hub head to deliver world class Portfolio and NPL business.
- Ensure constant reporting and progress updates are provided to Hub LT, BD, EMENA Portfolio and NPL

- Substantial experience of 3 - 5 years + in EU and/or Global Pharmaceutical markets.
- A track record of accomplishments in Portfolio, Launch Management, Marketing or Sales at an operational and strategic level demonstrating commercial awareness.
- Demonstrable evidence of project and process management including portfolio maintenance, launch excellence, project lifecycle and requirements analysis alongside use of project planning tools.
- Market access knowledge on at least one of the countries within the hub.
The Person
Pharmaceutical Degree level qualification or a Master’s Degree preferably within Life Sciences and/or Business/International Business.
English fluency is essential.
